New Installment of Assassin’s Creed Mirage Confirmed by Ubisoft, More Details Will Reveal Next Week

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is now official. A teaser photo for the upcoming instalment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise has been released by Ubisoft. The new game, called “Rift,” was reportedly developed as an extension to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, according to earlier rumours. At the Ubisoft Forward event, which is slated for September 11 at 12:30 am IST in India and September 10 at 12 pm PT in the US, further information about Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be shared. The event will be aired on the official YouTube and Twitch channels for Ubisoft.

The teaser artwork for Assassin’s Creed Mirage suggests a more traditional representation of the character than most recent instalments in the series. Our character appears to be dropping in for an assassination while wearing the recognisable white hood and having a hidden blade sticking out of his sleeve. This supports earlier reports that suggested Ubisoft was choosing to take a back-to-basics approach with the next game. Contrary to the current open-world RPG-Esque components they added to the franchise, the scale will be more constrained so that it won’t seem like an Assassin’s Creed game.

The image’s background depicts a Middle Eastern landscape, which is consistent with earlier rumours that said the game will take place in Baghdad. According to Bloomberg, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the outcome of an Assassin’s Creed Valhalla expansion that is scheduled. In an effort to cover the gap in Ubisoft’s “thin” launch schedule for the fiscal year, the DLC was changed into a standalone game. The Bordeaux studio of Ubisoft is in charge of development, which may be why it is behind schedule.

A few days ago, a YouTube user going by the moniker J0nathan shared some fresh details about Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The list included some fresh information as well as confirmation of the previously established facts. The movie, which was set in Baghdad between the years 870 and 860 and the Anarchy in Samarra, appeared to be aiming for a spring 2023 release. Other changes include the return of Eagle Vision, a feature that allows for enhanced senses, and the addition of a String Dagger weapon.

The Codex Network, an Assassin’s Creed fan site, also provided artwork for the next Mirage in a now-deleted tweet. The picture depicts our hero holding a sword while donning the traditional assassin’s robe. He can see the outline of a gigantic charging towards him in the distance. This would imply that Ubisoft hasn’t entirely given up on using mythical creatures in its Assassin’s Creed games. Medusa, the Cyclops, and the Minotaur were featured as side tasks in their 2018 release, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

The phrase “The Forty Thieves Quest” appears in another version of the Mirage artwork and is obviously a reference to the well-known Arabian folktale “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.” One would conclude that it requires the “Open Sesame” password because the image also includes enormous doors. If this leak is accurate, it might be offered as a pre-order bonus or as other DLC.

Online rumours about a different Assassin’s Creed game with the working title Project Red started to circulate in July. There are few specifics, but according to sources and games reporter Jeff Grubb, the game is set in feudal Japan and uses an RPG style like contemporary Assassin’s Creed games. Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which is referred to as Ubisoft’s live-service platform for subsequent entries, will include Project Red.

While Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s release date is unknown, we can anticipate it to arrive on all current-generation consoles, including the PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Windows PC. On September 11, at the Ubisoft Forward conference, more information about the game and the ensuing live-service platform is anticipated.
