However, ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan have often disrupted cultural ties like these.

This move comes amid a series of diplomatic actions following the terror attack. India cancelled all visas issued to Pakistani citizens and asked them to leave the country by April 30. In response, Pakistan stopped issuing visas to Indian nationals and opened the Wagah border to allow Pakistani citizens to return home.
