Aadhavan Muthukumar is the son of the famous poet Na Muthukumar who won two national awards and Filmfare awards for Best Lyricist in Tamil. Aadhavan is now pursuing his school and is soon expected to become a lyricist like his father. Na Muthukumar passed away at the young age of 41 in 2016.
Born in Kanchipuram village, Kanchipuram district, Na.Muthikumar was a physics student. But because of his love for Tamil, he pursued a master’s degree in Tamil from Pachaiyappan College. Although he studied Yapilakana properly, his poems are simple enough to teach even the layman.
He entered the film industry aspiring to become a director and became a mesmerizer with his poetry. Besides about 1,500 film songs, he has written several collections of poetry such as Muttulla Tushigal, Newton’s Third Law, Pattambuchi Vilpavan, and the novel Silk city.
Poet Na. Muthukumar, who won two National Awards for songwriting in the films Thanga Meenal and Saivam, has also received various awards including the State Award. He died on 14th August 2016 at the age of 41 due to jaundice. He has a wife named Jeevalakshmi, a son named Aadhavan, and a daughter named Mahalakshmi.
