A representative for the actor said that Avengers star Jeremy Renner is in “critical but stable” condition after getting into an accident while ploughing snow.
The weather-related accident on Sunday, January 1, left the Avengers star with “serious injuries.” He was flown to the hospital by helicopter.
“We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while ploughing snow earlier today,” a spokesperson for the actor told The Hollywood Reporter late on Sunday night.
The actor who played Hawkeye is with his family and “getting excellent care,” the rep said.
The 51-year-old man, who owns a ranch in the Sierra Nevada mountains above Lake Tahoe, was reportedly flown to the hospital by helicopter.
In 2008’s The Hurt Locker, in which he played a bomb disposal expert in Iraq, the actor became well-known.
He was nominated for an Oscar for his roles in Kathryn Bigalow’s war thriller and The Town, which came out in 2010.
He is also well-known for playing Hawkeye in Marvel’s Avengers movies and TV shows, such as the Hawkeye miniseries.
His accident happened when a deadly and historic blizzard hit the US. At least 60 people have died because of the “blizzard of the century” winter storm that hit North America with very cold weather and strong winds.
The storm cut power to homes and left people stuck in their cars. Police couldn’t reach people who needed help because they couldn’t get to them.
Renner put a picture of his car covered in snow on Twitter on December 13, with the caption “Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke.”
Renner will be in the second season of Mayor of Kingstown, which will start airing in two weeks.
